I’ve used Symprove Probiotic a few times now and I actually think it’s one of the best probiotic, gut health products I’ve ever discovered. Read my review to learn about my experience and your options on where to buy Symprove.

Back in 2020, after two years of studying for my MSc, it was time to fix all the things in my life that fell to the way side. Read, exercise and diet. They took the biggest hit. I survived on what I would call convenience food (compared to what I normally eat) and made it through revision and exams on sugar.

So it was time to do something about my diet and I knew the best place to start would be to work on fixing my gut health. That’s where Symprove Probiotic – the probiotic everyone is raving about – came in.

My first 12 weeks were gifted, which is when I wrote this post but then I purchased another 12 weeks in 2021, and again in 2022. Because I genuinely think it works.

What Is Symprove Used For

First of all, I think we often forget how important our digestive system is. It is after all the biggest organ in our body and it’s vital to our health through the key role it plays in absorbing the nutrients from the food we eat. It also removes any waste materials ready for removal from our bodies.

The function of the digestive system relies heavily on the balance of bacteria within it; too little friendly bacteria can lead to sluggish digestion, weakened immune function, and susceptibility to infection. If waste moves through the digestive system slowly, some of the toxins can be reabsorbed by the body, causing a rise in the level of dangerous bacteria, and posing a number of potential health issues.

That’s where Probiotics come in; they can help to avoid these problems by helping to break down food and aiding the absorption of nutrients, along with defending the body from bad bacteria. I was personally recommended to try them during a conversation I had with a nutritionist at an event a few years ago and have been playing around with various different brands ever since.

Symprove is a unique water-based probiotic formula that is packed full of live, active bacteria. Because Symprove is water-based, it doesn’t trigger digestion. This results in more live and active bacteria surviving passage through the stomach creating a better opportunity to colonise the gut. This ability to deliver thriving bacteria is what makes Symprove Probiotic so special.

How Long Do You Take Symprove For?

Apparently, lots of people ask Symprove why the programme is 12 weeks. They recommend 12 weeks to start with as that’s how long it takes to initially reset the gut bacteria balance. Some people will feel the effect before others, but a minimum of 12 weeks will give you the best chance of re-balancing your gut and noticing a difference.

What Happens After The 12 Weeks?

For a lot of people, continuing to take Symprove becomes a part of a balanced lifestyle along with eating a healthy diet and exercise.

Where To Buy Symprove Probiotic

Symprove comes in packs of four x 500ml bottles. Each 500ml bottle lasts for 7 days (a week) while on the 12 week programme. You can order Symprove Probiotic a month at a time but the most convenient and cost-effective option is to subscribe.

I’m currently considering the 12 month subscription for £39.99 per month, which is the most cost effective option.

Of course, Symprove Probiotic is available on Amazon too (what isn’t?!). I found it here and available with Prime delivery.

A 4 week pack directly from Symprove costs £79. If you subscribe, the same 4 week pack will cost £49.99 per month at most and you can cancel at anytime on their one month flexible subscription.

Symprove Discount Code

Symprove run a refer a friend scheme through mention-me and I’ve registered, which means you can get £20 off a 12 week pack. You can either use the link or enter my name – Elle Linton – after you click on the “Been referred by a friend?” link at checkout.

What Difference Have I Seen?

So this story is in a couple parts now – my first time using Symprove and then looking back on using it for the second time.

Back in 2020, I noticed I had less issues related to my stomach in the first 8 weeks of using Symprove. I had gotten to a point where I was suffering from bloating more often than not. During those 12 weeks of Symprove on that occasion, I had just one bout of bloating.

Somewhere between week 8 and 10, I ended up feeling pretty run down. I continued to take Symprove every morning and managed to get on with my daily life.

But then I caught the flu virus in late December which meant I couldn’t get out of bed never mind eat so I fell of the wagon. Just as I started to feel better (over two weeks later!) I caught a stomach virus and again… no food and bed rest.

Now looking back, almost 3 years later, I am pretty sure that “flu virus” was a very early strain of covvy d.

Eventually, I did start to feel somewhat better and started exercising again. However, when I went to complete the final two weeks of the course I noticed that the Best Before date had gone.

I contacted Symprove on Instagram and they got back to me super quickly to let me know that the product has a shelf life of 3 months as being a live product it naturally ages over time.

The date shown is ‘Best Before’ though, not use by. They told me that because they claim that each daily shot contains 10 billion live bacteria, once you’ve passed the date the levels slowly start to decline but it’s still perfectly fine to consume for 1 more month.

Between the start of 2020 and now (the closing of 2022) I can honestly say, I’ve never felt quite like myself (pre 2020) except for a period in 2021, which was between July and September. When I did a search in my emails to see when it was I re-ordered Symprove, it was in June 2021. Is that a coincidence? Or was it the effects of Symprove and improved gut health?

I believe I had re-ordered a 12 week pack of Symprove after going to see a private GP about my issues and she spoke to me a lot of gut health and also said that although quite pricey, Symprove was the best product on the market.

Other Supplements I’ve Tried For Gut Health

Back in 2016, I tried a few other supplements to help improve my gut health. I’ve always been curious to know if looking after my gut would help improve my skin as that is an area I have struggled with for as long as I can remember.

You can catch up on the latest about my post pill acne here, but since then, I’ve come off the medication and my skin did go crazy again – more than likely stress related. Since then, I defo have good days and bad days, and while I work on improving my gut health with Symprove I’m trying my best to be patient.

Meanwhile, if you’re interested in aligning your diet with your gut health then the G Plan Diet might be for you. My mum actually did the review for the blog – I think I have the book somewhere so I should dig it out and give it a read.

The book is packed full of example menus and shopping lists so all that is needed is to make the decision, go shopping for the ingredients (which are easy to find and relatively inexpensive), prepare meals and start living the rest of your life with a healthy gut and all its benefits.

So now I’m really putting Symprove to the test again on for another 12 weeks, but hopefully I have covered everything in this post you might want to know.

In the meantime, have you ever tried Symprove?
