The official sponsor of the London Marathon and therefore official kit maker. Previously the Boston Marathon jacket was THE jacket to buy but in the last few years, jackets for the other Marathon Majors have become more popular. I really like the pink option for this year’s London Marathon.
Honestly I think New Balance have some of the best clothing from a sports shoe brand (anyone else agree sometimes they are not so great!) I’ve been wearing these tanks for almost all of my runs and plan to wear it on race day too. Although I wish they’d made a London Marathon tank version, I still really like the t-shirt version. I’m probably going to buy the pink version at the expo!
The shoes are the London versions of the popular 1080s. I first reviewed these shoes back in 2016 (side note, my side part in this blog post is laughable!). They are great everyday shoes – I had a gait analysis at a NB event this summer and they recommended these for long runs, easy runs and tempo workouts.
My favourite piece of kit from the NB range for this year’s London Marathon is the lilac LONDON top. I love that this versatile tee can be worn with activewear and jeans/trainers for more casual attire. And for £25 – it’s a great price point!
If you know how much I love maps, you know I am already obsessed with these! Will be picking up a pair a the Expo I hope! They also have special edition glasses for Chicago and Berlin.
With a new pop-up shop (soon to be permanent store), Tracksmith’s first London location is in Marylebone and will be hosting events and activities around this year’s London Marathon. I’m helping to host a shakeout run on Saturday 1st October with the team from Believe in the Run and Emily Abbate (Hurdle podcast) – sign up here.
