Breakfast? Snack? Dessert? However you like to enjoy your granola, you’ll enjoy it even more if you whip up a batch of this one. Enjoy it straight away when it’s still a little warm [one of the biggest perks of making your own granola] or store it in an airtight container ready for the moment when your granola craving hits! We’ve served it here with milk and sliced banana but it’s good with any other fruit, on top of yoghurt or a smoothie bowl, over a bowl of ice cream or even as an alternative topping for a crumble?
Ingredients
- 100g porridge oats
- 50g crushed pecans
- 50g crushed walnuts
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 35ml maple syrup
- 60g smooth peanut butter
- Milk of choice, to serve
- Sliced banana, to serve
Instructions
[1] Begin by preheating the oven to 180ºc and lining a baking tray with parchment paper.
[2] In a bowl combine the oats, crushed pecans, crushed walnuts, salt, vanilla extract, maple syrup, and peanut butter.
[3] Scatter the mix onto the baking tray and pop in the oven for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
[4] Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving in bowls alongside your milk of choice and some sliced banana. Or leave to cool completely before transferring to a jar [or any airtight container]. Enjoy!
